Housing Benefit have not given me rent on time-my fault,I missed my signing-on day.JSA claim is back on now,Housing Benefit have proof of my claim, which is what they need to give me more Housing Benefit.
However,my landlord obviously isn't happy,as last months rent is now 2 weeks late, and the Housing Benefit may take up to 2 weeks to sort out the money. It may not be sorted out by the 28th,which means I'll be even more in arrears.
I phoned the landlord(I've been keeping her updated on the situation)and she has told me that she is well known at the local branch of the bank where I have my account, and that because they know her, they will upgrade my account,so that I can have an overdraft in order to use that overdraft to pay off the rent.
I don't think the bank will do this, however, because I've been on benefits for months, why would the bank do that for me?
My question is:If you know about these matters,do you really think it's likely that the bank will do this,or is my landlady living in cloud-cuckoo land?
Please only answer if you know about these things, not if you simply want to vent your spleen against Housing Benefit claimants!
Thanks .
