...this crazy idea)? In about 100 or so years carbon dioxide levels coupled with the projected temperatures could cause an extinction of much of the oceanic biota. This would be due to acidification and stratification of the ocean waters. This would cause a huge sink of carbon in the oceans (carbon stored in the oceans) which would result in a sharp cooling trend in atmospheric temperatures. So, it may seem like a gradual global warming, but it may be cut off abruptly by much colder global temperatures. That's just one possibility. How do you see the future with regards to global warming? I like to think that we will be more technologically advanced to overcome foreseen obstacles, but maybe adaption is a more reasonable approach to this sort of thing than putting too much effort into trying to stop the inevitable. We should look at all possibilities, of course, and how to adapt to them in the future. What do you think?
