Dealer network is a problem, since they require more specialized maintenance (especially valve adjustment) than most bikes. In my city, they have sold quite well for a few years, since one of the largest dealers took on the line. They just dropped the line, so now there is no dealer within 125 miles, and if I owned one I'd be ticked off. It looks unlikely that any other dealer in the city will pick up Ducati.
Parts are certainly expensive, and often have to come all the way from Italy, so wait times can be a problem. I don't think the bikes are worth the hassle.
