What do you think about Obama allowing the photography of fallen soldier's coffins?

Bush didn't let anyone see, partly to pay respects to the soldiers and partly to not let anyone see how many actually are dying. Obama says that coffins may be videotaped or photographed as long as the relatives of that brave young man or woman sign a waiver of permission. What do you think?

Ehhh... In a way I disagree for reasons such as the media. If there is one thing I can't stand it's listening to the media talk about how many soldiers are dying ALL the time. But as long as Obama doesn't just say "Go ahead and snap all the photos you want" to the media it's ok. His decision to let the families decide kind of justifies it. I don't think the pictures should be taken but if the family says it's ok I guess it's their choice. I'm not an Obama supporter, but as long as he says it's the family's choice it's perfectly fine by me.

Obama is leaving it up to the individual families to decide. That's a smart decision.

Why do you want to see a picture of the coffins anyway? Only because everyone is obsessed with showing how much of a "bad president" Bush was. Leave the families of our fallen heroes alone and give them the respect they deserve.

We are a free society and a government of the people. Nothing should be hidden from us. I don't agree that the families should have to sign a waiver first.

It might come back to bite him if casualties from Afghanistan turn out to be markedly hight that they have been form Iraq recently.

I think that the best option was chosen. That is it is up to the individual family to decide. That to me is a no brainer. However this is big government that we are talking about.

The media would blow it out of proportion, a greater proportion of the American people would grow opposed to the war, and we would have more pressure to leave. Obama thinks this is a good idea because of his inability to understand long term strategy. The truth is we would risk more American lives later by not being in Iraq now.
