What do you think about Japan's new law: fines for overweight people....?

Recently, Japan mandated that all employees and their family members over the age of 40 must have their waistes measured at the doctor's office. Companies will be fined if their employees' waist sizes measure over a certain threshold: women over 35.5" and men over 36.5".

Do you believe that this would be a good method to employ to combat obesity in the US?

What about the age limit?
 
I was going to say... I think it would be great here in the US... specially for the ones sitting on their fat butts on welfair...They need to start it like at 20 though
