Why would it look horrible on [adult swim]? I don't see what's so wrong with it. Usually since [adult swim] never edits animes or censor them. They just leave them like they are. Besides, I don't see why it should be on Toonami after looking at the overalls. So I think Eureka 7 goes well with the [adult swim] line-up.

Anyways, I think Eureka 7 is a good show. one of the parts in one of the episodes was so funny when
Renton threw up and was embarrest
. That part was so hilarious.

I've only missed a couple episodes of this series so far.

Up to this point, I really don't have any serious problems with this anime that would stop me from continuing to watch it. The last episode seemed pretty derivative of other anime I've seen, but there's still a slight intrigue there that could spark later in the series.

I wouldn't say the show is addictive enough for me to go off and buy the DVD's or anything, but there is still time for this show to really get on its feet. If it does, I'll certainly be watching.

I sure hope they start answering all the questions they're raising. I must be the only one who's been getting increasingly ticked off by each successive episode where they don't explain a single thing.

I'm accustomed to the "mysterious" type of anime plot where the main character, and the viewers, have no idea what's going at first. But for some reason Eureka 7 is doing it in a very annoying way. They're not even disclosing little details. Usually the writers at least throw the audience a bone or two by now.

All Renton does is follow everyone around like a puppy dog instead of just grabbing someone and going, "Look, just EXPLAIN what's happening! What is WRONG with you people?!"

Everything is Significant to the Gekko State members with a capital "S" ("We're going to that place???" -- everyone gives everyone else meaningful looks and shifts uneasily and Holland gets crotchety and yells at Renton for no reason). But they all refuse to just give Renton the straight dope. And we have to be stuck seeing things through his ignorant eyes.

It's getting to the point where I don't even want to watch it anymore. Tell me there are some answers coming soon, guys. Please.

LOL Gaogaigar has like 20 fillers in a row... and you have trouble getting into this?

Haha touche. However, when I started GaoGaiGar I strapped myself in for a mecha show, and that's what I got. Sure the first 23 eps. or so mainly consist of a formulaic villain of the week (some of which are rather dumb), but at least throughout those episodes you always got something new. A good chunk of those episodes begin with a little scene from the past and some episodes drop hints for what's to come (like the foreshadowing for Pizza). Also, overlooking the entire series it's a little tough to call it all complete filler. We do learn about what happened in the past, how things came to be, there is some foreshadowing, and pretty much everything comes into play later (the various Yuusha Robo, Eraser Head, Dividing Driver, ect.). Also GaoGaiGar had the mecha action to back itself up, and the attack animations were very well done so at least it was entertaining on an action level. Also I pretty much liked every character from GGG.

Now as far as Eureka Seven, I also buckled in for a mecha series. How could I not? All of the hype, advertisments, and even the opening and first episode all pointed in that direction. However there is very little mecha in the show. That's not that big a deal, but each episode is so direct and repetetive for me that I would like to see some nice mecha battles to make up for it. Unlike GaoGaiGar, where I could at least look forward to a new weapon, characters, or a plot tease (for the first half), with Eureka Seven all I ask myself is "Ok, who's hazing Renton this week?" Part of that actually stems from my disappointment. I think the show did an excellent job establishing all of the characters within the first 2 episodes. So when I tune in each week and see who the episode is devoted to, I already have a good idea of how everyone's going to act. So really, I feel like the character establishment is getting redundant. I just feel like saying "I get it! I know what this character is like. Enough already." If there was a closer connection to the Gekkostate and the military at this point, then I could at least latch on to that to keep my interest. But as I said they both seem so separated from one another that it's hard for me to tell where things are going or to even make me really care. If we were sprinkled with maybe some origins of the Nirvash (I'm convinced there's something more to it, especially since I heard the show goes Eva) or maybe at least a little clip from each character's past, I wouldn't be as harsh and would think that the series is following a similar pacing to GaoGaiGar. But no, instead it's just ep. after ep. of "day in the life" episodes. Those are nice, but seeing them all in a string so early really weighs it down. If these episodes were more spaced out throughout the series then I would probably like them more. Also (although I'm still giving it time) the only character I really care for is Talho. People say the show has a slow start so I'm still gonna watch and give it a chance. Also the LFO's certainly have style so it would be nice to see more of them. Really all I want is a little something to latch onto so I can at least feel that I'm in store for a good story.

I'm still watching on AS. I didn't think this would happen, but I think it's become my favorite anime ever (or at least in the top 3). Everything I've ever loved in an anime is present he in some way. Yes, there's alot we've seen before, but it's done perfectly.
The world is so detailed but the details reveal themselves slowly and naturally without ever being explicitly stated from the get go. I see the show as more of a full on sci-fi series than just a mech series. I'm absolutely in love with this show and I'm dreading the end. Only 5 left :(

Is it just me, or is the animation style completely different when they show Renton and co. on/in
Earth
. And Renton's hair has slightly changed too.

getting older i bet. he should be what 15 now?

what is gonna be weird is eureka doesnt age? think back to the flaskbacks when she was found. same! think about lady sakuya! how can eureka and renton have a long term relationship if itll look like pedo in a few years. plus her kids will look older than her in a good 10 yrs.

the only way to solve it if renton became a coralian of she became human. sigh but that wont happen.

E7... this has to be one of the oddest shows I've seen recently. It doesn't really fit into any category except shounen adventure. I watched the subs and to be honest, I hated the show for the first 10ish episodes, but my roomate kept saying how good it was so I kept watching. It wasn't until about eps 20ish that I started to get into the show, and that's only because the show finally started to go somewhere. At episode 20, I would still put the show on MAYBE the second episode of a 13 episode series plot-wise. I don't inherently have a problem with this, hell I watched all of Inu Yasha.

A lot of people downplay Renton's stupidity, I don't like this. He may not whine as much as Shinji, or be as stubbornly stupid as Shinn... but that doesn't mean he doesn't do it more than is tasteful. I have a pretty high tolerance for shows that I've gotten more than a few episodes into, I think I've finished nearly every show I've seen 7 episodes of unless I didn't have access to the rest. Despite that, I almost quite watching because of just how incredibly stupid Renton is. He does NUMEROUS things without thinking in the slightest and just about every time he gets himself into hot water, even then he rarely seems to relent. I can completely understand wanting to be right, I know I was one of the most stubborn teenagers I knew, but judging from what he does and how he reacts to situations Renton has to be retarded. At 8 years old I knew better than to do many of the things he did.

I DID however really enjoy Renton and Holland's relationship, this was almost definitely the most realistic relationship in the show. When dealing with most situations I could not comprehend how Renton could be such a dumbass... but when dealing with Holland the clear change in motivations made him seem much more tolerable and convincing as a real person. I gave this show a 9/10 despite Renton and the kids, mostly for the satisfying and conclusive ending.

Well, from my understanding the series doesn't really pick up until shortly after episode 10. I haven't seen that far either, of course I'm still enjoying what I've seen of the series so far anyways so it's not a big deal for me.

Well, it is a 50-episode series instead of a 26-episode one, so you can't expect too much for answers less than a third of the way through.

That being said, I must agree that they are playing their cards too close to their chests. Being too vague and secretive for too long can be a detriment to a series (see RahXephon), even a longer one.

And does anyone else have the impression that they don't really have 50 episodes of story here and are trying to stretch things out to compensate?

Yeah, his constant stupidity is pretty annoying. I don't think the creators did that great of a job giving him a very good "14 year-old" personality. I mean, I'm 14. All of my 14 year-old friends and I would agree that none of us act like Renton. But then again, we never were taken in by our heroes and on a ship travelling around the world running from the military in huge mechs. I'm sure if I were in that type of situation, I'd be pretty preoccupied and timid like Renton. But you never know.

In my opinion, the
eyes are more of a distictive feature than the hair. It is not too difficult to sport hair like Eureka's or Anemone's, but no one has the deep, mysterious eyes that Eureka/Anemone have.

I thought
that besides the color and style of their hair they looked exactly alike. And their personalities were pretty opposite, almost like they could be parts of one entity that was separated.
But that's just speculation, so yeah.

As for the "look-alike" line, I thought that Anemone was merely refering to Nirvash's appearance. Also remember Renton's line "It looks like the Nirvash!"

But what about
when Anemone meets Renton in the dream? What did you people make of that? To me, it was as if Anemone tried to get Renton to come with her, as if Renton's role in the overall objectives of the two factions is far greater than just "tagging along for the ride." I have a feeling that we may see some more of Anemone trying to acquire Renton, but ofcourse, like my last thought, this is basically just speculation.

Really how do you know, did you find out its ratings? I'd be interested in a link to em if you could. It just surprises me thats all.

Plus it sucks that all the new anime is on saturdays, really doesn't give them a fair chance does it.

I've only watched the first 5 episodes, the rest are recorded waiting for me, but I was annoyed by all the mystery only that far through, and they've STILL not even hinted at answers to the bigger questions? Hrrm.

not sure of the exact number, but this week was below 175,000
http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=167557

starting this week, they're pushing it to the end of the lineup. i'm starting to think they may not pick up more episodes.

Patience people, patience. Enjoy the interactions and the daily life aboard the Gekko State. For what its worth there are no real HUGE secrets anyone is keeping from Renton. Granted some big stuff is about to happen, but the real shockers happen much, much later on. The point here is not to keep the audience in the dark waiting for the OMG WORLD-CHANGING REVELATION but to simply reveal the realities of the world at a leisurely pace as Renton matures and changes.

I think next week they are gonna be making repairs to the Gekko in some cave, after they leave there things start to really pick up. Renton grows up alot in the comming weeks.
