What do people think about climate change and do you think it's real? what should be my position in this whole thing?

This question period has expired. If you have received an answer that meets your needs, _please_ choose one of those as a 'best answer' as soon as you can; otherwise, this question will go to an automatic vote. Other answerers deserve to receive the 'best answer' vote for their attempt at answering your question.

If you haven't received a good answer for your question, you may want to consider the following,

1) Remove this version of your question and re-post your question. Newer questions get more activity on Yahoo! Answers than old ones.

2) If you do re-post your question, consider why it wasn't answered the first time. Could it be more specific? Could it be worded better? Were there grammatical or spelling errors? Was it in the best category? Can you provide more helpful details?

If it doesn't seem likely that re-posting your question will help you, then here's a listing of my favorite 'answer sites' for Arts & Humanities. Maybe one of them will help you.

Humanities Interactive http://www.humanities-interactive.org/
Bartleby http://www.bartleby.com/
Yahoo Reference http://education.yahoo.com/reference/
Yahoo Arts Directory http://dir.yahoo.com/Arts/

Since I really haven't answered your question, it is not necessary to give me any points. This post is simply to encourage you to pick a best answer or to help you find a good answer. Regards.

First of all, don't let anyone tell you what your opinion should be because as soon as someone challenges you on this you'll just crash and burn. Research it.

Besides that, C02 only makes up a tenth of a percent of the atmosphere and has a negligible effect on climate.
Water Vapor(Humidity) on the other hand accounts for 90 percent of global warming.
So Global warming is a load of crap.

the correct position is, it's real, and it's caused by burning fossil fuel.

Global warming is already a serious problem. Have you heard about Darfur?
300,000+ dead already. Many of them children. Because of global warming.
Warming in the Indian Ocean changed the rain patterns, so crops failed.
People had to move to survive - to get food and water. That's global warming.

Historically, global warming, and cooling occur naturally.
Ice ages occur in about 100,000 year cycles.
Changes in the eccentricity of the earth's orbit are the driving factor.
When the orbit is very eccentric, an ice age occurs.
when the orbit is more circular, we have an inter-glacial.
that's what's happening now, and it will be a few thousand years before we can expect natural causes to drive the climate toward a new ice age.

Here's the bigger version of the graph.
Note how ice age cycles line up with eccentricity cycles.

all the honest science organizations think it's both real, and a serious problem.

http://fora.tv/2009/08/18/A_REALLY_Inconvenient_Truth_Dan_Miller <== This is an hour long, but is very good.

you'll see several posts that claim it's not real.
i wonder who to believe?
how 'bout climatologists, meteorologists, and all the major science organizations?

http://www2.sunysuffolk.edu/mandias/global_warming/is_global_warming_hype.html

<<A poll ... of 3,146 Earth scientists showed 96.2% of climatologists who are active in climate research believe that mean global temperatures have risen compared to pre-1800s levels, and 97.4% believe that human activity is a significant factor in changing mean global temperatures. >>

97% of climatologists think that there's a problem, and we're causing it.

http://www.ametsoc.org/policy/2009geoengineeringclimate_amsstatement.html

<<Human responsibility for most of the well-documented increase in global average temperatures over the last half century is well established. Further greenhouse gas emissions, particularly of carbon dioxide from the burning of fossil fuels, will almost certainly contribute to additional widespread climate changes that can be expected to cause major negative consequences for most nations .... impacts are expected to include further global warming, continued sea level rise, greater rainfall intensity, more serious and pervasive droughts, enhanced heat stress episodes, ocean acidification, and the disruption of many biological systems. These impacts will likely lead to the inundation of coastal areas, severe weather, and the loss of ecosystem services, among other major negative consequences.>>

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_opinion_on_climate_change#Statements_by_dissenting_organizations

<<With the release of the revised statement by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists in 2007, no remaining scientific body of national or international standing is known to reject the basic findings of human influence on recent climate change.>>

ie, no reputable scientific organization claims that AGW is not real.
in addition, it is worthy of note that the last group to admit the problem was the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
that should give you a telling clue.

Last, when you compare, you might note that i've posted honest links from folks that do real science.
NASA, NOAA, NSF, MIT, and UCLA.
if any of those that claim it's not real post links, you might think about who you should trust.
