C C7S Guest Jan 22, 2009 #2 Some Lexus are faster and some Mercedes are faster. Lexus is more reliable, smoother ride, quieter ride, and cheaper to own over time. My favorite Mercedes is the SLK55 AMG and C63 AMG models. I do not like any other Mercedes'. The only Lexus I like is the Lexus IS series. If I had to choose between those cars I like, I would take the Mercedes SLK. Most fun to drive.
