What do you need to be an author? Im ten by the way and really wanna be one!?

Im a ten year old girl and is dying to be an author!! Im great at english, Im in year 5/5th grade. What do you need? Like a degree or something.... Even my teacher says I'm a great author. AND my BFF who is also very smart, says that if I become an author, I'd be the next Stephenie Meyers...??
 
It's great to know you are inspired to become a writer at that young age. I am guessing that you probably like to read and write very much. Writing is such a great form of expression, isn't it? Isn't it wonderfuI how we can put together words to tell a story about something. Imagine if you are a writer, a well known author, what would you like to write about?

The following are some of the things you need to become an "author":

1) able to read and write very well in the English language
2) use originality
3) get a publisher
4) Master's Degree or greater (I think)
 
well you don't really need anything, just get a good idea and write it down, your going to need a lot of proof reading and you do not need a degree to write and the last step would be to try and publish the book or book's
