What Do You Keep in the "Trunk"?

An allen knife, microfiber towel, Mini plexus spray, axel nut, ducati tool kit, registration and insurance paperwork. Yep it all fits, but now I have the Mono tail so I have to figure out what I'm going to do without a storage place.

Kickstand puck i got from the Ducati Island tent during Laguna Seca MotoGP and a pair of sunglasses.

Tool kit, registration/insurance papers wrapped up in a plastic bag and a front disc lock.
I normally ride with a small tank bag to keep other things like cell phone, mp3, wallet, sunglasses, wiping cloth, small spray bottle for helmet shield, ect...... Once you get used to a tank bag, you won't want to ride without one.

Gotta keep an old pickle jar lid for the kickstand on soft ground...and a spare pack of smokes!

With the R1 (and a metal tank) I sometimes use a nice tank bag for long rides (150-200 miles).

But with the 1098, no tank bag.

Since we do a lot of long rides in SoCal, in the mountains and desert areas, I just added this to my limited storage:

I put 30 inches of 1/4 inch clear vinyl tubing in a 1 qt (quarter of a litre guys) clear plastic bag. Expectation is that one day, on a long ride, either Wifey 848 CDUC or I will run low on fuel, and with the tubing and baggie, could do a quick, one time only fuel siphon from another Ducati Riders bike. So, tubing in the baggie in the tail is my low fuel insurance.....
