I'm becoming a big fan of Rogers. I think he's trying to work on his fighting and it showed against Fedor. Who here would love to see a Rogers/Dos Santos fight or a Rogers/Carwin fight? With Rogers, Carwin, and Dos Santos being strong strikers as well as Rogers showing very good submission defense against big man Fedor and his take down defense I imagine getting better, how good would those fights be? I'd go for Rogers in the Dos Santos fight and after Rogers works on his fighting some more I say he can take Carwin. I know Carwin has big hands and big power as well as being a powerful wrestler, but you must admit that he surprised you to have given Fedor a bit more trouble than a lot of these other guys as well as his submission defense being surprisingly good.

Roger didn't have to show good submission defense, he didn't need it, he was just physically stronger than Fedor. Fedor has nailed those submission many times.

Rogers is a big strong guy and fast for his size, much like Brock Lesnar. Roger's chin is suspect. You can see that a guy like Fedor took heavy ground and pound from Roger who is much larger and stronger. Fedor got up and took him down.

Rogers will always be a good contender but Champion NO.

I didn't see the trouble that you mention for Fedor. If you tally up the damage Fedor incurred from the fight you will get this.
1.an opened pr-existing scar from jab.
2.three-four hits while on the ground to the head.(their power and accuracy is in question.)
---End of tally.

That is it. That is all Brett did. other than that.
Fedor
1.Punched brett in the temple.
2.Unleashed a barrage of highly accurate head punches to brett.
3.Took brett down several times at will.
4.Had submission attempts that were merely blocked because of the cage's presence.
5.Knocked him out with one punch.

brett rogers lost the first round and got knocked out early second. Since when is that giving somebody trouble, or doing well?

I gotta agree. Rogers, as good as his ground and pound is, does NOT have a granite chin. he makes for great entertainment, but I don't think he's quite proven himself to be a contender for the title.

A lot of potential but I'm not a fan of his smack talk. Keep the lips zipped and keep KOing fools and the UFC will come a calling!!!
