My cat got onto the counter and stuck her paw into the bowl and tore his tail into little strands. He isn't swimming that much around his bowl, i am afraid he will die.

YOU CANT KEEP A BETTA IN A BOWL!!!

THEY NEED 5+ GALLON HEATED AND FILTERED AQUARIUMS WITH LIDS

I doubt he will survive as cats have bacteria in their paws that can kill birds and mice so I assume the fish could also die.

try adding a tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5 gallons of water

call the pet store where you bought it and ask them? I'm not sure a veteranarian would do anything to help you for a beta

your right he most likely will die. You as the owner of the cat and fish need to learn that even tho your pets live in your home some are dangerous to other pets and people too.

as for the tail, I don't think you have any way to fix it. Just protect your fish as best you can in the future.

sorry about your fish and good luck

I won't yell..much...about the poor thing in a bowl. Just he can jump out of it and things can get o him in it. That said..if the fins are torn, you need some Bettafix or any med sold for fin rot..which he is sure to get in the little bowl. A teaspoon of salt wouldn't hurt but it MUST be salt that does not have iodine..so your house salt won't do. It has to aquarium salt sold in pet stores.

well, try just letting it heal back. It shouldnt die since its just a fin. it may only have swimming problems.
