N Nathan S New member Dec 1, 2009 #2 Crappie and Bluegill. The rods are kind of like a modern day cane pole. It's long so you can reach out long distances and just pluck them out. Cane pole was one of the first rods I ever fished with along with the old Zebco. Good times.
