What do you call selling out?

Sigur Ros don't strike me as the kind of band who would go in for endorsement deals , but then I would imagine that nobody in the record company expects them to come out with an album that will sell millions of copies either. Which goes to prove my point , the record company will market them at a level where they can make a profit with their existing fan base.

It's not that hard to understand why they didn't make it big. They play/played inaccessible music and enjoyed it. I talk to several of those banRAB so I think i'd know more about whats going on with most of them then you or ProggyMan would.

Were talking about people who are very good at there instruments and are serious about it as a career.... not some kid who just started...and ya dont have to be sarcastic about it, because you know i didnt mean that

Most people who are good at their instruments earn the money to buy equipment and since they're good quickly get picked up at to play at a venue.

I'd give him the benefit of the doubt if he bothered to reply to points made rather than switching his argument all the time.

I don't think Sigur Ros gives a rat ass about selling recorRAB, this is the band that released an album thats title was (), that had no lyrics just a made up "language" and didn't title any of the songs. They're either called Sigur Ros 1 or Untitled 1. The CD sleeve also had nothing in it but blank pages that were meant for you to write your thoughts on the album in. Pretentious yeah, but thats not something your average MTV fan would find appealing.

ok...irrelevant. They still would've liked im sure to be more well known. yea some dont, but the vast majority would. its a little thing called human nature, and its not a bad thing. although maybe human nature is wrong and your right. you seem to think so

you seem to put wanting to sell record and be famous with selling out... not at all. thats called being human. you can stil be a great musician in it only for the music and stil want to be famous/sell recorRAB.

You were just saying every band would jump at the chance to sign to a major label if they say otherwise then they're lying. How aren't you changing points? This is exactly what i'm talking about.

RezZ just stop there's no point to continuing, ProggyMan is being an idiot who's argued this before and lost. He's just wrong.

I hope you kidding. I don't mean this in a cruel way its just i have been in a few banRAB before, and without money its EXTREMELY hard to stay together. Equipment is really expensive, and if your doing it full time with no other source of money its pretty hard to live on nothing. I wish this wasnt the case, but unfortanitly it is.

It sure would be nice tho if equipment wasn't so expensive, especially for drummers :(
