I was once a Master Tech (mechanic), a Machinist in the Navy for 8 years, and now I am a Mechanical Engineer in a large company that works with the Oil Refineries and Energy producers... I also teach the MSF program for the California Motorcycle Safety Program on the side for fun and discounts.
My wife is a Chemical Engineer that works at a local refinery. We don't have kids and we do well enough to have 3 cages (pick-up, ute, and car) and four bikes (2 dirt, 2 street) between the two of us.
The 1198S is probably the purest sportbike I've ridden, with some other bikes I've owned being better in other areas. They can get my Ducati when they pry it from my cold, dead hands, but I think there will be a good touring bike in the future after the Wife gets a new kitchen. Neither the CBR600 nor the Ducati are very good at two-up riding for extended periods, but track days are fun!
