...greater good/health of planet? What do we do about people that complain about losing trivial freedoms for the greater good/health of planet.

The folks that wont even stop using an electric can-opener to save a billion barrells of oil a year. I want more mandates from this government to protect the enviroment, water, and air.. Bring on the mandates because I would rather be able to catch and eat clean fish and breathe clean air then have the luxury of using a clothes dryer ( I hang dry ) or an electric can-opener.. These stubborn idiots that cry foul over losing freedoms bring us all down and make the air we breathe dirtier and this is fact. When will this gov use some common sense and just make these laws..
 
I would venture that most people disagree with you. This is going into tree hugger territory. Electric can openers are the target of this question? Not to mention there is no way that American use of electric can openers uses a billion barrels of oil a year... it is electric, not gas!
