What do u think bout the mpx220

um wut do u guys think about the mpx220..... i think its looks ok and its a nice phone.... also it had memory card and windows mobile on it..... i read some post on how people had problems with and also how it served some people well like they had not had any problems with it..... would u guys recommend the phone why or why not..... ok thanxx um is the volume on it good like compared to a Razr v3 is the volume about the same higher or lower..... thxx
 
It's a crapshoot. The battery life isn't that great. The features are awesome though.

I've had mine for over 1 1/2 years and it's been good. Many many people say otherwise.

Unless you buck up for the HTC Star Trek 8500 smart flip thing, it's your only FLIP windows option. Stupid Motorola should've put the Windows OS in a RAZR.
 
its windows software is unique and not that good..go for HTC phones(Dopod SDA Qtek O2)..i use a Dopod 585 on Windows 2003SE..its windows so it hangs occasionally but overall a nice difference from normal phone.more programs to install and stuff..back to point,if u want a Windows go for HTC phones.if u want a a Windows Flip phone,dopod has a new offering..on Windows 5.0
 
You know, I have had this phone for two days now. I understand that isn't a lot of time to see all the problems. Okay, I get that. Being that this is the only "affordable" flip phone with windows mobile, I think it's a good buy. For $130ish on Ebay, I am happy with my purchase.

Yes, I had to upgrade the rom when I got it. Yes, I had to do some stuff to the registry. But, you know what? After about an hour of messing around and fixing settings, this is the best phone I have ever had!

If I was an idiot that didn't really understand common computer terms like "registry", "rom", and "usb cable", I probably wouldn't like the phone either.

The volume could be better, but it's not horrible.
 
seeing ur phone i guess u like motorola alot.i do too.i enjoyed moddin my e398 till it was stolen.and u'll be surprised how many ppl don understand registry and rom..anyway,i do think we'll all like to hear your experience.after all what i've read were nv positive.and most werent motorola enthusiast too..rembr to unlock ur phone for more oppurtunites. =)
 
yeah i think the mpx220 looks nicee... but people complain about them too much.... and about motorolas.... in my opinion i like motorolas the best cuz u can mod them alott and theyre fun phones to have..... u can upgrade the mpx rom to the asian one which i heard is better and also the camera doesnt have to be the best i mean i have a digital camera for that the only thing i would probbaly hate on the mpx would be the volume which people said is pretty low..... um how is the volume compared to a razr v3 or a vxxx phone ???
 
i guess the difference is mpx being Windows,we won be able to modify the seems to the absurd levels we can with normal motos..i really miss motos..today i took my gals E398 to mod..after mod the vol just so different from my dopod at max...so i guess the difference between MPX and V3 or Vxxx or any motos would be very different..
 
Buy an MPX220 is not for the faint of heart. Be prepared to get your hands dirty to make it work to your satisfaction. Don't buy a refurb unit on ebay - get a new one. When you do, flash the ROM to 1.49 or an Asian ROM.

If you can spend more money, get the Cingular 3125.
 
don't buy it... its the crappiest phone ever. cingular traded mine out for a phone for free and gave me a $200 credit on my account because I got suckered into buying that POS phone. worst ever. and why would you want to buy a phone that is so old to begin with?
