What do u do during PE class in america?

What do u guys usually do during PE class,does the teacher tell u to play soccer,football,badminton, or is it up to us to play what ever we want

How long is the pe class?? Like 2 hours?

Is PE Class optional in the 11th grade?

Do they mixed up the boys and girls?
