What do u compare a rockford fosgate t500-1bd amp to?

I always hear that the rockford series of stuff is almost 3 times what a normal amp is. They say if you have a 500 watt rockford amp its really like a 1200 to 1500 watt amp. I just wanna know if its true cuz if it is i have 2 kicker L5's in my car and need a new amp to power them so ima get the rockford t500-1bd amp

That's really not true. Don't get me wrong, it's good stuff. But, it's only going to give you what it is rated at.
