What do these Bike specs mean?

Specifications:

Displacement

Bore x Stroke

Compression Ratio

Valve System

Carburetion

Rake / Trail

Wheelbase
[what is good, long or short?]

Suspension, Front

Suspension, Rear

Tire Front

Tire Rear

Seat Height

Look each one up - almost every one has complications a variations and this is basic knowledge you should have. For example, a long wheel base is less maneuverable but more comfortable.

This loks like a homework assignment. If it is, the answers are in the book you should read.

The engine specs are basic mechanics:

Displacement is the volume total of the cylinders with the pistons at bottom dead center.

Compression ratio is the amount the cylinder is closed by the piston rising to top dead center.

The engine is fed fuel through carburetors if it isn't fuel injected. there are a few different kinds of carburetors.

Valves are actuated, well, find that part in the book and read it. There's too much to say for a q&a forum.

Take a look at a picture of a motorcycle in a magazine like "Cycle" and think about what you see with the wheels and the seat. You can figure out about those items.

Wheelbase is the distance between the front and rear wheels. The shorter, the smaller the turning circle.

Rake is the angle the fork is different from perpendiclular to the horizon.

Some of this is wrong. Check it against your book.

Specifications:

Displacement
-how big the engine is (250cc, 500cc, 600cc, 750cc, etc)

Bore x Stroke
bore is how big the piston is, stroke is how far the piston moves up and down in the cylinder

Compression Ratio
its the ratio of when the piston is at bottom dead center to when the piston is at top dead center

Valve System
describes the valves used in the cylinders for intake and exhaust

Carburetion
it describes the carburetor of the bike

Rake / Trail
the angle of the forks and how far the center of the front tire is from where the forks would theoretically touch the ground (i think)

Wheelbase
[what is good, long or short?]
usually sports bikes have shorter wheelbases because their rake is smaller, this allows for a more agile bike, but not as comfortable as a cruiser, where it has a longer wheelbase with a longer rake, which allows for a more comfortable bike for long rides.

Suspension, Front
the front suspension, describes which type of suspension they use in the front

Suspension, Rear
describes what kind of suspension they use in the rear

Tire Front
the size of the front tire

Tire Rear
the size of the rear tire

Seat Height
how high the seat is from the ground, so for people with shorter legs, a lower seat height would be more ideal, and for people with longer legs, a higher seat height would be better

you can always type these into google or something and info about it will come up
