my almost 3 year old does them and LOVES doing pageants! but everytime i think she is going to win another girl takes it. example: she does a pretty face thing. turns, waves hi, silly girl face with her little fingers, shakes the booty, and blows kisses and waves bye and the girl who won CRIED!!!!!!!!!!! lol ok any opinions???
ummm before more people get their panties in a BUNCH i do natural pageants only! and my daughter asks for them! no money is won only trophies and tiaras and please read my question correctly i did not ask for your opinions on what YOU think of pageants just what do judges look for! mmmkkk thanks!

Sorry but I think that pageants are so stupid. They do nothing but teach your child at a young age that appearances mean everything in life and your child may end up with self esteem issues later on. That show 'Toddlers & Tiaras" makes me sick to my stomach, pageant mom's seriously need to get lives and find a better hobby...

This may be a futile answer, but I suggest looking into the reasoning behind toddler pageants. What is it teaching little girls? I think that one's a no-brainer: Physical appearance is everything, fierce competition is good, and if you can't physically BE a teenage barbie doll, pretend you're one, as opposed to a youthful, sweet, innocent little girl. Parents who enroll their children in beauty pageants need to re-examine some things- quick.
