I really want to learn to ride dirt bikes this summer. I'm 18 years old and I've been on a few pit bikes but nothing bigger. Would a 125 be a good size to start off on? I ride street bikes all the time ( a kawasaki ninja 650) will this make learning a lot easier for me? and what gear do I need to look into buying? Any information about starting up will help. Thanks!! :)

yea you will have the basics of riding down pat so get yourself like a wrf 250 yamaha or something of the like and start practicing i would advise against starting out on a motorcross bike just because you need to learn the feel of sliding and less grip and a motorcross bike will be a bit of a handful at first i know a 250 sounds small but you will be surprised how fast you can go on one also makes sure u get at least a helmet boots gloves goggles knee pads and some form of body armour i use the 661 armour suit its really good protection wise but i does get a little hot when riding start of small just riding around a flat track with a few corners then so up to trails then motorcross when you get a fair bit of experiance
enjoy

im 19 and ive been riding since i was 10 i have an 06 rm 250 but i mostly ride sand and track if your going to ride track stick with a 250f theyre easier to learn on and if youve never really ridden before a 450 or 250 two stroke is too much power to learn on
