What do i need to split my monitor picture into 2 tv screens?

I bought a VGA splitter cable so i can use my TV as a monitor to watch movies i download.I want to be able to still watch those movies and surf the web at the same time with out disrupting the movie screen im watching.can i do this?what graphics media card do i need?or do i need one at all?I have an emachine w3622 and a dell 2400 i can use.you can also im me if needed maldonado779
