What do i need to ride a 50cc bike or a 125cc?

My hubby needs to get a scooter/moped to help him find work but we are confused as to what he can drive as the motoring sites don't explain it to well.
All he has is a provisional car license we are not sure what else we need to get a 50cc or maybe a 125cc
 
you will need to go to a training centre if your hubby has not ridden a bike b4, as he has a provisional licence, he can ride a bike upto 125cc he will also need to insure the bike, and for this it will need an mot, if the bike is over 3 years old, and road tax.
