what do i need to major in college if i want to become a lawyer?

Pre-law, philosophy, liberal arts, political science, government, writing, English literature, criminal justice, or international relations, will help get you into law school. But, a minor or second major in a specific area, like biotechnology, business, accounting, finance, one of the hard sciences, engineering, etc. is a really good idea, and might imporve your chances of getting in to a good law school. Decide what type of law you want to do and try to take something in that area. As long as you get a degree, have really good writing skills, have a clue how the legal system works. and do good on the LSAT. An internship or work experience in a firm is a good idea too, but I'd do it in the summer only. Don't let it hurt your grades.
