I am wanting to get an aquarium of some description, making the move from a fish bowl. What will a proper tank require?
I am thinking a pump, fish food and well fish but what else?
And is there anything I should pay particular attention to?

basicaly it does depend on what fish you want to keep but if it is cold water you will need a tank, pump, filter, gravle, water treatment, and ornaments also you will need for if the fish get ill you will need medication to put in the water such as Bioactive TapSafe (30ml)

Bioactive TapSafe from Interpet makes hot or cold water safe for fish. It removes harmful chlorine compounds and metals and adds aloe vera and beneficial bacteria.
go on this web site for more there are lots

You will need filtration either buy one that goes in tank.I prefer the under gravel one.The one i have has a spray bar which aerates
the water. You will need a heater, gravel which has to be well washed.
You need to cycle the tank before putting any fish in it.You can speed it up by putting a few flakes of fish food into pump.I have kept tropical fish for over 10 years & am still learning. If i was you either go to a library
or buy a book on Tropical Fish.
good Luck

It depends on the type of fish that you want to keep. Cold water or warm water. Speak to the shopkeeper at the pet store, they should be able to give you advice on everything you need
