1996 lincoln continental with the JBL premium sound system. The wirings harnesses i have got dont fit the little rectangle black plug. I think this is because the antenna is adapted into that plug. WTF do i need to get this cd player wired in? can i just splice the wires together and keep the factory amps too? im just so fed up with this premium sound system lol. Any info is greatly appreciated.

You're about to get even more fed up with your premium sound system.

If there's no separate antenna cable behind the factory radio, it's not because it's adapted into the plug. It's because the actual factory tuner isn't located in the radio. It's located in the trunk in that car.

In order to install a new head unit in your vehicle, you have to unplug the speaker wires and antenna plug from the factory amp, attach extensions, and run them to the factory radio location. The power and ground wires can still be found in the gray plug behind the factory radio.

Here's something that will make the job much easier: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_8433_Scosche+FD10B+-+FD10.html
It's a harness made for the 96+ Taurus and Sable, but you can use it for your Continental too.
