what do i need for this course? what exactly is a folio?

Hi,i'm looking up information for a specialist makeup course for next year and one of the things it says is when you apply you go to an interview and you must bring a folio,what does this mean? does it mean i have to have a folio full of art,drawing's etc? because i haven't been in school for awhile and i don't have any art type things because i don't know how to do all these specialist makeup things yet
