over the days ive noticed that my 10 gallon fish tank has gotten very very dirty. so dirty that when the fish goes on the other side i cant see him. what do i have to do to get this clean.im trying to find an easy way out instead of dumping the whole tank. there is one trout or carp in there now. the fish tank is 10 gallons and i will try what ever there is to get it clean and not hurt the fish.PS the filter is running water down one side that it should not do but it still filters alot of some kind of debris in the water

take half the water out, put more in every other day or at leasat til you get a big filter with alot of filtration, that fish is used to having open water, clean ect. since its open and stuff the water is mostly clean and since hes in a small thing thats not clean he could become sick and die. i would just do what i told you too, and change your filter every month. and addd some plants. something!

Do a complete water change. Take out all the fish and put them in a separate tank for a few days. Empty the water and clean everything- plants, gravel, etc. Put everything back in and then add water. Add water conditioner and let it sit for a few days. After a couple days put your fish back in your newly cleaned aquarium. :)

you should clean the whole tank out as good as you can and take the filter a part and clean it as well you really shouldn't have that kind of fish in a tank but other options wich will help i gerinty is that you can get a bigger tank because that is small for that kind of fish and get a huge filter for one of those fish because they are extremly dirty and need to be in the wild i would suggest a 40 or 50 gallon tank and a filter that is bigger than the tank gallons because that fish is dirty and you should clean it once a month wal mart also has filters that r bigger than a 50 gallon tank and their priced really good trust me i bought one!!!

do water changes weekly
or monthly use a siphon i think its called to clean out food and poo
every water changes
and remove uneaten food every 5~10 mins that is still left

Edit:also dont listen to people that tells u to remove all the water from ur tank it means u need to recycle ur tank
and it will kill ur fish faster then a dirty tank

also it may be the food u feed him that makes ur water dirty

Well it's obvious why your tank is so filthy. You have a fish that is not suitable for home aquariums inside a tiny tank that is only suitable for livebearers and betta's.

Do some research before keeping fish, it'll really help you.
