What do I do in a situation where I was purchasing a car that got recked the

next day by an uninsured driver? Just recently I purchased a car through a friend of my room mate. We made out a contract basically saying that there weren't any damages or mechanical issues, payment info yada yada. We'll the day I got it the battery died and they said that they knew it was low on charge because the (+-) things were coroded. So they got a new battery for me. Well I got the car on a weekend so I didn't have time to get insurance yet. Plus I found out that if I waited 2 days that I could get insurance through USAA because I was getting married 2 days later to my now husband who is in the Army.

The issue now is that I got pulled over the day before my wedding because the licence plate lite was out on my car. So the State Trooper followed me for a good mile, no lights on, then all the sudden they came on. I had pulled over to the left shoulder because I was in the left lane and it was a busy night on the highway. The Trooper proceded to move to the right shoulder. After sitting on the shoulder I decided to move to where the officer was. As I moved back over to the left lane, the trooper moved over to the middle lane to assist me moving to the right shoulder. When out of now where a car rearends me. The driver of the car had no insurance what so ever.

Sorry for the long back story, but here is my stiuation and question now:
- The State Trooper informed me that he wasn't going to pull me over untill he ran the plates and the person that I got the car from had a warrant out for her arrest. I wasn't made aware of this prior to the purchase. Also she only had liabilty insurance on her car, she had given me permission to drive it using her insurance. However, through her finance compay for the car it is in her contract to have full coverage no matter what.

So what should I do in this situation? She had a warrant. She didn't have full coverage insurance, like she said she did. I am stuck with a busted up car that it not in my name and the damages wont get taken care of because she didn't have full coverage like she was suppost to (just liability which covers the other persons car if it was your fault) and the kid that hit me DIDN'T have insurance at all. The wreck was ruled his fault by the PD. Should I give the car back to the original owner and let her take him to court to get him to pay the damages? I need advice in a very serious way!!

Sorry it was so long, any adivice would be appriciated...
