What do I do if I have got some wood chipped of from a cricket bat from the bottom?

I have got a KG Cricket Bat Which is a english willow and while running some peice of wood got chipped off from the bottom.. What can I do ?...Shall i tape it..oil it..some other..please tell what to do and where I can do it or get it done
