What do i do about getting my degree in Business to lead to Event planning ?

Okay So i think I would like to be an event planner. However I'm unsure if getting a business degree first them going into a Event planning program is a good idea, I have no idea how to know what gives you certain qualifications and to be completely honost I'm just flat out confused. Please help me !
 
You can really be an event planner with no college degree.

Business is a good start, you can also get an event planning certificate at some community colleges.
 
event planning... do you mean like party banquet type events? best idea would be to look for someone who owns their own business and ask if you can come on as a personal assistant while getting a degree. (a marketing degree may really help) they can help show you the ropes and perhaps turn into a partnership in the long run.

I know at least in Australia some universities offer degrees in event planning.
Griffith Uni has a Bachelor of Business (Event Management)
