What did Iceland do to prevent its financial breakdown? What did they do, or did they not do anything? If possible, name sources. Thanks!
 
They didn't do anything, not because they didn't want to, they couldn't. Their economy collapsed and their currency became worthless. The cost of imports sky rocketed (being a island nation, you import everything), and riots broke out in the streets.
