Ive been playing golf for a year and a half now, and I'm okay at it. During the summer i played about 3-4 times a week. I was able to hit my driver and my 3 wood, however they went the same distance. One of the original problems was that my swing was so long that i was actually having my golf club pointed down at the ground. So my goal was to shorten my swing. Now, this is where the problems began. Suddenly i could hit my 3hybrid through my 5 iron. Then I could but i couldn't hit my high irons. Now, i can hit my high irons and wedges but i cant hit my irons below 6 and i cant hit my driver or 3 wood that i used to be able to hit, 220 yards. Also, i have realized that my clubs do not have a very high loft and when i hit at the driver range, the mat makes a sound when i hit, sounding like i am hitting into the mat. So i have come to the conclusion that i am hitting down on the ball or something like that. What is it that i could be doing in my swing ands how could i fix it. When i started playing golf i was 5'0 i am now 5'6 and really only my legs grew so i am way out of proportion in a torso to legs ratio. Could this have affected my swing and how can i fix it. Please help, try outs are on the 23 of february.
