What devices are on the cutting edge of electronics?

I've been looking into personal video eyewear and stumbled across portable video projectors. The Droid seems to be another cool new one. What other technologies \ devices will we be seeing in the consumer market soon? Or come into mainstream?
EDIT - Touch Screen Monitors seem to be coming around pretty quickly too
 
I have engadget on my google homepage and I love it. It talks about everything from new inventions from MIT and universities and technologies that are 10 years from development to the newest devices being unboxed.
