Captain JC is correct. Summarising: Iberian, Celtic, Carthaginian, Graeco-Roman, Goth, Moor/Arab.

In antiquity, the lands around Sevilla belonged to an Iberian tribe (Spain and Portugal form the Iberian peninsula) called the Turdetani. However it was also contested by the Conii and Turduli tribes.

Later, as the mercantile empire of Carthage grew, the area fell within the Carthaginian sphere of influence.

Following the Second Punic War, the land was turned to Roman rule.

During the Barbarian Invasions of Rome, the Iberian peninsula was conquered by first the Vandals on their way to North Africa, then the Visigoths.

With the rise and expansion of the Islamic empires in Arabia and North Africa, the Moors expanded into the region.

It was recovered by the King of Castille and Leon in the Reconquista and remained in Spanish hands.
