which cricket phones have java and which ones have brew out of the selection they have now. i know the rokr has brew and 6265i has java thats all. i rather have java and thanks in advance if someone can help

The Nokia 6265i, 6165i, and 6275i can all run Java apps that are copied to the phone. It's very easy--no hacks or patches needed.

For example, just copy any Java games to the phone and they work......period.

It may be possible to enable Java via a seem edit. However, the Java client must be a part of the phone's firmware (i.e., Bell Mobility). Visit Mark Venture's website and HackTheRAZR.com to learn all you can about seem editing Motorola phones.

hmmmm....thats odd. my cousin has cricket and has a razr2 v9m or whatever it is and he has opera mini 3 on it :?

you sure it doesnt have java? if you are perhaps it supports jad files :?

Thanks, I will read up on seem editing more... From what I've seen so far it looks pretty cool. Do you know where I could find a seem edit list for the new ROKR's? I would like to enable vibe and ring (at the same time) instead of just vibe then ring and of course Java Apps.

Again Thanks!

no it does not. in fact it states that the v9m is compatible with Games & Apps (formerly Cricket Clicks) (AKA BREW) and is compatible with the new Data Backup features (which is a BREW application)

unfortunately it seems cricket has abandoned plans to switch to all java phones. the data backup feature is supposed to work with all phones coming out in the future and it is currently only available as a BREW application. so unless a JAVA client comes out i think we're not getting any more JAVA phones from cricket. =(
