...need to be replaced.? Last weekend my Jeep overheated. The mechanic looked at it and tried to replace the head gasket and machine the head. The mechanic said that it was cylinder number six that needs the work. While working on it they noticed a potential crack in the block. For the job to be done correctly they would need to send the block off to have an acid test done. By the time they did that the cost of a new engine would be about the same. I don't really know anything about cars. They want $5,000 to replace the engine. I figured that it wouldn't' be worth it so I had AAA tow it back to my house. The brakes were just replaced, it has a new battery, the exterior and interior are in great condition. I am thinking about listing it on Craigslist and or maybe Ebay. What should I expect to sell it for? Or should I go somewhere else to get the engine fixed?
