What could cause my 2005 Dodge Neon to make a creaking noise when going over bumps/dips?

The creaking just started out of the blue last week. It doesn't sound horrible but, it's definitely noticeable (and irritating). I have an appointment at a Dodge dealer on Monday to get it looked at but... I just thought I would check on here in the meantime to find out what it could be (if it's something major or not).

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

the shocks would be the problem right there i believe, i have had a couple of cars that do the exact same thing. It doesn't necessarily mean they need to be replaced, but if it irritates you that much and it has a warranty, I would have them replaced the right way

The lower control arm bushings are probably bad!
It is a common thing with Neon's and PT Cruisers
Nothing major or dangerous

10,654,302 things make those squeeks. Lube your front end and put a little oil on the spring attach points. That'll probably solve yopur problem.

It could be your shocks or struts going bad, if it is, don't wait too long, I did and one of my struts broke and the only thing that kept anything bad from happening was the weight of the car on it! I f I had hit a dip in the road too fast it wouldn't have been good.
