What could cause a loss in my cars performance?

To start, off I drive a 99 GMC Jimmy, and today I noticed a drop in my engine performance, around 2750 to 3100 RPM there is a little squeaking like my belt is slipping. Then everywhere from 3500 to redline at 5000 my car isn't accelerating as quick as it should be and from 4500 to 5000 it almost seems as though almost no power is going to the wheels. I also think my engine sounds a little off, but no individual sound is noticeably different.
