revs more than it accelerates.? it gradually picks up speed, could it be the clutch or the transmission? ive never changed to transmission fluid. i tried getting it changed a couple of months ago at an oil change place but they couldn't find were to change it. when im on the highway going about 65mph sometimes the engine will rev harder while not picking up speed. ill have to ease off of the pedal to make it feel better. so in 1st and 2nd the engine is working harder and going 65 or above the engine works harder until i ease into it. what's going on?

You need a new clutch as yours is slipping. I would not drive it till it is fixed because if you do it will damage the flywheel.

easy its the clutch. Look and see if you can see smoke behind your car or smell a strange smell. I wouldn't worrie about the trans. unless you racing it. normaly you have to drope the trans, pan to change that. I have replaced a lot of clutches and thats what it sounds like to me.

Your clutch is slipping, you'll need a new clutch plate and possibly a pressure plate and thrust bearing. It usually comes in a kit with all parts needed. You should get it replaced sooner rather than later because the fibrous material on the plate has worn down, if it wears down to the rivets you will damage the flywheel, this will then need skimming on a lathe, and will cost more. Clutch kits are cheap, it's the labour to fit it that will be pricey, get a few quotes. Good Luck
