What could be wrong with my '01 Jeep Laredo?

O man! If you only knew! I had a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Quadra-drive, and had the same problem! All 99-2003 Grand Cherokees have been recalled due to engine/transmission problems. Depending on your warranty you can take the car to the shop/dealership and see if its covered, and if its a recall type problem they must and will fix it. My advise to you and your husband is to fix that and once fixed sell it cuz it will happened very regularly/or ending completely braking down to wear its very hard/pricey to fix. LOVED JEEP BUT VERY BAD THEY SUCK! Good luck
 
I have a 2001 Jeep Laredo that all of a sudden has an engine light that blinks. We ran for the codes and it says that theres a misfire on cylinder 2. My husband changed the spark plugs, but the code still pops up and engine light still blinks. It runs a little rough too. What other possible things could it be? someone told my husband to change the Coil Pack....but I hate for him to buy that when it could be something totally different. Any ideas would help!
That was supposed to be "how much does a coil pack cost?"
Also..about huch does a coil pack cost? We called Auto zone and they told my husband like 130 dollars or something like that. Is it really that much??? Believe me, we've had probs with this jeep..we'll be getting rid of it after this winter!
 
Please, to find out if it is the coil pack ....swap the #2 coil pack with another coil pack and see if the code changes cylinders. If it does then you know you have a faulty coil pack. I wouldn't be surprised if it did. I've replaced countless faulty coil packs in my career.
 
mate had the same problem his was fixed by the main dealer but soon after it went again. He got a good deal on a newer motor so traded it in and now knows the new owner who's got the same problem.
Get rid they sure do like juice it wouldn't pass a gas station
