I wrote this for another question too, but it never gets old.
I really don't know what kind of style you want so you should be more specific. But I'll go with retro.

Colors: Lime, watermelon pink, hot pink, tangerine, citrus yellow, and eye popping blue.

Use BRIGHT neon bedsheets or bedsheets and curtains that go with the colors you chose.

On your walls you can put paintings of clowns, flowers, peace signs or just retro shapes.

You can fill up a vase with mums, and Daisies. And maybe stamp on pictures of flowers or peace signs.

For extras you can stamp peace signs, butterflies, or retro shapes onto your wall with sponges or just paint them on regularly if you want. You can also add a bean bag chair, or a bubble chair.

For more you can go to your local library and check out room crafts or DIY crafts.HOPE this helps! :D

Pastel blue, green or yellow are all neutral enough to blend with most furniture, light or dark and the room will seem larger...
Contrast colors in bold, royal shades add interest...
Dark colors add class if not overused...best for trim woodwork or drapes/curtains,bedding accessories...
Wallpaper and borders can be limited to 2-3 walls leaving one-two plain, but painted and those walls accommodate the bed or heavy piece of furniture that is to be focused on upon entering the room...
Choose a theme for the entire room,;ie;;Americana, Tropical,Animals, Floral, Patterned;plaid,checked....etc...
=)

try using wall paper if you have a huge budget...the rough texture one..it looks a lot more expensive :p
but if you are going to paint then i suggest you use dark green..then put big (A4 size) square gold leaves on it..like mosaic but let it smudge and tear abit or leave alittle space in between or try overlapping to let the green come through..
the gold leaf can be substitued with gold paint and a platellete knife
it will brightens your room and makes it look fancy :>
