aziat , the kind of people that lived in south america, and egyptians, and dubai , there is nothing dubai didn't build.

The Egyptians, the Maya, and I think there are some in Cambodia.

They Egyptians used theirs as royal tombs, and the others were used for ritual purposes I think.

The ancient Egyptians built pyramids and I believe that they were used to keep the mumifications of dead bodies, if my memory serves me correctly. They thought of the Pyramids as the "Stairways to Heaven" for the dead mummies to begin to their after life.

Egyptians used them for tombs, while the Mayans/Incans used them for a temple of sacrifice.

Egypt, China, Greece, Rome, India, and Mesopotamia to name a few. Some of them were used as burial chambers for the nobility, while some were used as burial markers for past battles. Most were designed after the ziggurat, which was a precursor to the pyramid you are most likely thinking of. From what I've seen the Indian, Greek, and Mesopotamian ones resemble ziggurats more than the iconic Egyptian pyramids.
