What changes/improvements would you make if you were a TV scheduler?

BBC 1 need to get their finger out regarding daytime TV!
I would scrap all their morning antiques/property/boot sale rubbish for a start. And re-arrange the predictable afternoons (Diagnosis Murder/Murder She Wrote anyone?).
I'd like to see something like:-
7am Breakast (That seems to do OK).
9.am: A general Debate-style programme like Kilroy (not crap like Jeremy Kyle!) where the audience view their opinions.
10.am: A vintage comedy (Allo Allo/ Just Good Friends etc)
10.30 am: A light-hearted quiz show/Panel game.
11.00am: A phone-in style programme like Eamon Holmes did in the 80's with topical views on the weeks TV, with celebrity guests and their views. (Doh! wish I could remember the name of it....something like IN VIEW )
12.00pm: News & Weather/regional news.
12.30pm: Another vintage comedy.
1.00pm: Cookery show or game (Well let's face it - there's got to be cooking somewhere!)
1.30pm: Doctors
2.00pm: repeats of US soaps (Dallas/Knots Landing/Dynasty etc)
2.45pm: Horrible Histories ('cos it's for adults as well as kids IMO!) And it breaks us into the kiddies programmes....
3.15......carry on as normal...........

There is an interesting article in the Guardian from a few weeks ago regarding the BBCs daytime line-up and plans to overhaul the schedule.

"However, a change is coming. BBC Vision director Jana Bennett has announced that BBC1 will axe its long-standing daytime property show To Buy Or Not To Buy from its schedules, and also plans to phase out Murder She Wrote and Diagnosis Murder at the same time. This is apparently to allow the channel to concentrate on current affairs, consumer affairs and more homegrown original drama such as Land Girls and Jimmy McGovern's Moving On."

I would make the following tweaks to the ITV schedule.

This reduces the amount of soaps and puts a nightly stripped schedule in place.

By moving Emmerdale to 7.30 I think the BeeB would move Eastender to 8pm allowing ITV to get the viewers back at 8.30 for Coronation street

Weekday schedule

6.00 Daybreak
8.30 Lorraine
9.30 60 Minute makeover
10.30 This morning
12.30 News
1.00 Loose Women
2.00 Midsummer Murders
3.00 Secret Dealers
4.00 Jeremy Kyle
5.00 Alan Titmarsh
6.00 ITV News 6.20 Local News 6.50 ITV News and Weather
7.00 The Seven o
