And traders alike. I regret to be the one who rains on this parade, but (most) tracker staff are more likely to shun away from Idol for not turning over a bunch of IPs, rather than embrace him for sheltering "thousands of bittorrent users."
 
What.cd disabled me for no reason a long time ago (well there was a reason but it was silly), and my account was promptly re-enabled. I'd also like to point out the last guy who made one of those threads had his account back within 20 minutes, before TVCY even had a chance to post about how terrible they are. Coincidence? :whistling

Never had any issues with BMTV's staff either, though admittedly I don't participate in their forums/IRC. Q/Ibby seemed nice enough last time I talked to him though.

Never been a member of HDBits, so I've never been disabled there for no reason either.
 
I've been deservingly banned before. Silly RevTT put wait times on my brand new account, meaning it was impossible to get my ratio up on my home connection since I had to wait to snatch new torrents. Eventually I just downloaded a full blu ray porn movie and went out in a firey blaze of ratio watch :)

That pisses me off quite a bit, to this day.

At any rate, my driving point was What's decision still influenced other trackers. Some trackers would have gladly adopted 2.0 or the 2.1beta as the sole acceptable clients, had it not been for the need and knowledge that their users would be none too happy with running two clients.

Also, is uT1.6.1 still globally accepted?
 
Thanks for pointing out the mistake we did not make, IdolEyes787. We looked into the reason you were not disabled and found out that it was indeed not for no reason, and it was completely not our fault, so on behalf of what.cd staff, I do not apologize. You are not re-enabled, and you may never log in. No thanks!

As for Idol being banned, perhaps you're oblivious to this as you are towards many things, but the FST mods aren't exactly popular in the eyes of some BT staff, mostly because this site harbors traders and doesn't give out their IPs. The staff here have been banned from various places before, in many cases being an ex-FST mod wouldn't help your case. While it's a narrow minded view and obviously isn't shared by all staff members, it does happen.

They are so busy at what.cd, but yet they have time to disable innocent members and then formulate a sick in-depth story?
With that fact in mind, it would not cross my mind that a large majority of what.cd staff consists of prepubescent teens online supporting their very own e-hero (what.cd's very own whatman)

Run a tracker with 120K members and come back and talk. Hell run a tracker with 10K members and see how much of your time it takes up. Now add in designing an entirely new codebase and features.

P.S. I really hate your whole vendetta against what. I was banned (somewhat unfairly, but I understand their reasoning) from What, too. I don't feel the impending necessity to run around here making a show of it to any scrollers.

Actually since I don't have much interest in the technical end of trackers( servers,pretime,bitrates,encodes,rate that ass - you know that kind of thing)that seems to fascinate most people I'm pretty limited to either talking about movies or exercise or spouting gibberish like here.

Also I thought I better put the "no desire to be " bit in ( while true) because otherwise some people( hopefully only the retarded ones) will just assume that posts like this are just sucking up and fishing for invites or something.

Btw if it were true ( which it ain't)I wouldn't really want to be part of any site that played favorites like that so I'd likely quit anyway.
 
I honestly think that is pretty much another ploy for them to funnel money out of users. Keeping a decent ratio at TL for BT newbs when you have wait times is certainly not an easy task, and force many to donate in order to keep their accounts.

Their blatantly commercialized tracker is probably the one thing I hate most about the site. The flashing front page ads, VIP "giveaways" of "gold" membership which gives you access (that's it) to a betting site (worth 270 euros!) among many other random giveaways in the forum really turn me off the site. If it wasn't for the content there is no way they'd get away with doing this and have any hope of retaining users.

Nah, the only tracker I've seen that even discussed this was Pedros, and I and a few others managed to talk them down to keeping the latest build of 1.8.5 allowable.

Also, is uT1.6.1 still globally accepted?

I wouldn't say globally. It's still whitelisted in some places but not everywhere.
