what causes the twitching?

I have this twitch that is right under my left breast like almost at the top of my ribs. It just twitches from time to time and I mean big twitches. What causes that? How do I get it to stop?

Luv,

Although twitches can be caused by lots of things, they can be caused by a Lyme infection. Other symptoms may include shoulder, neck, back pain, female problems, changes in skin (spots/rashes). I mention this because you don't mention other symptoms but your post is from the coastal area, I would assume, and that area is high risk for Lyme.

Do you ever recall being bitten by a tick? Few people do so they don't consider Lyme...but even if you don't remember a bite, I would hope that you keep Lyme in the back of your mind should symptoms get worse or change.

If it's Lyme, antibiotics would make the twitching stop if caught early enough, I think.

The simplest thing you can do is go to the doctor and have your electrolytes tested. If you're low in potassium or magnesium it can cause muscle spasms and muscle cramps. If that looks fine you may have some problems in your back or neck, even if only posture related, that are causing some nerves to occasionally get pinched.

The nerves in your neck branch out to other parts of the body. This is how someone with foot pain can actually have a back problem and nothing wrong with their foot. So anything is possible. Again, go to the doctor and find out. ;)
