2000 Excursion has been running fine without problem. When my wife started the engine to come home from work, it immediately started knocking. Not a heavy knock like the bottom end makes, but still a knock - not a ping. It has a fast frequency as well. Anyone out there have any ideas - experience with this problem?
I asked this question a couple days ago and I got 2 different replys - air in pipes - and piston slap. I think someone has something other than air in their pipes and hard to understand how an engine goes from no noise to piston slap. My experience has been piston slap progressively gets worse over time. It would be nice if someone that has had this problem provide an answer.
