What caused this printer to print HTML instead of a webpage?

I've already fixed the problem by resetting to default settings in Internet Explorer's advanced tab, however I'm just wondering what the possible cause of this problem was. For no reason whatsoever the computer just started printing out the HTML for every website that we would try to print from instead of the compiled page.

If anyone has any clue as to what the cause behind the problem was, please let me know.
