What car should I buy-a 2009 Camry or a 2007 Lexus IS 250?

What would be a good price for the Camry? If I buy the Camry, I just want the basic automatic model--no upgrades. Same with the Lexus--I don't need GPS or anything fancy.

I had the same dilemma a few years ago when I looked at the Highlander and the RX. I ended up buying the RX, which I was happy with, but I suspect I would have been happy with the Highlander, as well.

Which do you think is the better value overall? I would like to keep the car for about five years, and I generally drive about 12-15K miles per year.

Any advice or suggestions?
 
really depends one whether you wanna roll in style or if you want to go with something slightly bigger with more interior space...both are equally reliable vehicles (from experience)...the IS has less leg room in the back seat though...i like the IS better, but that just boils down to personal choice...obviously the camry would be cheaper while the IS is a little more luxurious
 
I would by the Camry. I just returned a lease of a 07 ES350 and it was basically like driving a Camry ( for a few extra dollars, it has the exact same engine). Also maintence would be cheaper as well as the gas!The resale value of the Camry is always greater than that of a luxury car because the are always in such High DEMAND. I still see peple selling 98,s for 6000 dollars. Go Figure!
